Hoping to capitalize on the success of the free-to-play original, Valve and Nexon Korea are teaming up to release Counter-Strike Online 2 to Japan, Korea and China. The original still has more than 600,000 concurrent users in Asia.
According to the release, the game run on an enhanced version of the Source engine. "The game will also feature various game modes enhancing its original game experience with new and improved environments, weapons, equipment customization and more," the release added.
No other details were offered. It is doubtful the game will make it to the States or Europe, considering Counter-Strike: Global Offensive is also in the works.
