WWE '12 rocks in Wrestlemania edition
Hot on the heels of Wrestlemania XXVIII, THQ unveils an updated installment of WWE '12.
Pay-per-viewers who watched Wrestlemania XXVIII in Miami last night know who got 'boots to asses' (I won;t spoil it for those who want to tune in to watch WWE and Raw this week). But to capitalize on the popularity of that wrestling free-for-all, THQ has announced WWE '12 Wrestlemania Edition.
The game features 15 new wrestlers and four alternate outfits. Among the new group of grapplers is Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson (gamers may remember him from his role in the movie DOOM), wrestlers-turned-announcers Jerry "The King" Lawler, Michael Cole and Jim "JR" Ross, shrill and vocal manager Vickie Guerrero, and "Macho Man" Randy Savage, who was tragically killed last May in a car accident.
The game, in the line of a Game of the Year or Gold edition, is in development for PS3 and Xbox 360 and will include all of the DLC released to date. It is expected to be released in May of this year in Europe. We've reached out to THQ to find about the U.S wrestling fans and we'll update when we get an answer. The original release in November was ho-hum, so hopefully the new wrestlers can add as much life as Wrestlemania did last night, there may be hope ...
