Come May 29, you'll get to play what Sony boldly declares "the first true FPS experience on a portable console," Resistance: Burning Skies for PlayStation Vita. In this spin-off from the PlayStation 3 shooter series, players must once again defend an alternate-reality 1950s USA from the invading alien Chimera forces. Set between Resistance: Fall of Man and Resistance 2, Burning Skies introduces a new hero in the form of fireman Tom Riley, romping across the eastern seaboard in search of his family. There's competitive multiplayer too, of course. As well as using the Vita's dual analog sticks, Burning Skies will boast touch screen controls, which all lead Sony to make that somewhat precarious claim. Burning Skies is developed not by series creator Insomniac, but by Nihilistic Software, maker of PlayStation Move Heroes and Zombie Apocalypse.
