Nintendo 3DS demos begin tomorrow with Resident Evil: Revelations
The Resident Evil: Revelations demo goes live on Nintendo's digital store tomorrow, as Nintendo promises the eShop will be "periodically updated with new game demos."
Visiting the eShop on the 3DS will give you access to 3D videos and screenshots of the latest games. But until now, the eShop hasn't provided gamers any playable demos. That will begin to change tomorrow, as the Resident Evil: Revelations demo goes live on Nintendo's digital store. Following that will be a demo for Mario & Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games, available on January 26th. As announced by Nintendo, the eShop will be "periodically updated with new game demos."
Future demos coming to the service include Rayman Origins and Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater 3D. "Specific dates and other games in the demo program will be announced at a later time," Nintendo reminded us.
Just in case you're not familiar with how the concept of demos works, Nintendo issued a rather didactic statement. "The demo program allows Nintendo 3DS players to be among the first to test-drive select games," Nintendo of America's Tony Elison said in a press release. "Players can try out new genres or series, often weeks before the full versions are available in stores."
