Resident Evil: Revelations StreetPass functionality revealed

Capcom has confirmed and revealed the StreetPass features for its upcoming Nintendo 3DS-exclusive Resident Evil: Revelations. There are different unlocks based on the single and co-op modes.

Capcom has announced the upcoming Nintendo 3DS-exclusive Resident Evil: Revelations will support StreetPass functionality. The feature will allow players to "collect items via a local wireless connection." These items, a press release revealed, will differ based on the game's multiple modes. "When a new item becomes available, players will receive a parachute icon and after clicking on this the new item can be collected," Capcom notes. Screenshots revealing the feature (after the break) show that these items will appear in an unlock menu, but it doesn't look like players will need to hunt them down in-game.

Resident Evil: Revelations 'StreetPass' in action

In the game's single-player mode, players will earn items to help them in their quest to complete the campaign when they pass other Nintendo 3DS owners. Items include weapon parts, which allow players to customize their arsenal at in-game workbenches. When connected via StreetPass int he game's co-op mode (dubbed 'Raid Mode') players will earn new enemies and "missions." "Think of 'missions' as Achievements or Trophies, where you're given a task with some kind of associated reward," Capcom's Brett Elston wrote. Some quests might ask players to find a hidden item. "Naturally there will be more difficult missions to complete, but the rewards will be greater." Resident Evil: Revelations is set to launch on February 7 in North America and on January 27 in Europe.

      It's annoying that some of these handheld exclusives look decent...

      I really don't want to buy a 3DS... port it! :P
