This weekend we learned about Tony Hawk's Pro Skater HD, the downloadable Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network title that looks to reignite the spark from the first two games in the series, which is set to arrive during Summer 2012. Today, more details on the project have been revealed.
In a strangely coy press release, publishing giant Activision announced Tony Hawk's Pro Skater HD would only be available on "leading consoles' networks" priced at "about $15."
"We're going back to the core of what made the original Tony Hawk's Pro Skater games so popular, while leveraging today's console power and online capabilities," the real-life Tony Hawk was quoted as saying in the press release. The franchise star also notes that the new game includes updates "to reflect today's skateboarding scene," but offers no examples of what that means.
Tony Hawk's Pro Skater HD "takes the best elements" from Tony Hawk 1 and Tony Hawk 2. According to Activision, Tony Hawk: RIDE and SHRED developer Robomodo is at the helm of the digital title.
No word on whether or not players can reprise their role as skater Spider-Man, but Shacknews is knocking down every door to find out.
