The trailer covers improvements to the battle system, time travel, quick-time events, and all sorts of things likely to be of interest to Fantasyfans. Of course, if you, like me, are behind on your Final Fantasy, it may all be one confusing jumble of terms like Paradigms, Crystogen, and Crystarium.
Final Fantasy XIII-2 arrives for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on January 31. And yes, there is indeed a Collector's Edition.

Is it less awkward in Japanese to name a game 13-2 or something? Because it's pretty fucking awkward in English. Why can't they just name these games with wordy subtitles like FINAL FANTASY 13: THE CURSE OF DICK ASSFACENUTS or something instead of just called it 13-2? ...and why the fuck do the MMO's not have their own names? WHY IS FF11 A MMO??? SQUARE WHY YOU MAKE MY BRAIN ASPLODEEE

11 is an MMO because for the next game (11) in the (loosely-termed) series, SQUEENIX wanted to make an MMO.
13-2 is called 13-2 because the game "Final Fantasy Thirteen" has a sequel, so "Final Fantasy Thirteen" 2.
The series hardly deserves the name, so don't think of it like "13" being the 13th game in the series, think of it as a standalone game whose name happens to end in a number. And now there's a sequel to that.
And yes, I realize that the logic for 11 and for 13-2 directly contradict one another. *shrug* Whatcha gonna do? -
Because they wanted to cash-in on the FF name, obviously. Calling it FF11 legitimizes that by inserting it into the sequence and psychologically strengthens the draw for people to buy it. It's fairly safe to say that FF11 had the highest revenue of any single FF, wouldn't doubt that on profit either.
