Former Battlefield, Killzone devs announce 'Pid'
Indie developer Might and Delight has announced its new game, a beautiful platforming adventure called Pid, planned for a digital release in 2012.
The eleven-person indie development studio known as Might and Delight has announced its debut title: a gorgeous-looking platforming adventure called Pid.
Pid is about a young boy who becomes stranded on a remote planet populated by robots. Battling said robots, befriending "unlikely allies," and ultimately uncovering a mysterious conspiracy that's preventing the boy from returning home, are all on tap. Cities and "castles," and "attics and space stations," are just some of the esoteric locations that await.
Besides looking fantastic, the game has quite the developer pedigree. Might and Delight was formed back in 2010, and includes a number of industry vets that worked on projects like Mirror's Edge, Battlefield, and Killzone. Some of them even worked together on Bionic Commando: Rearmed.
The developers claim that what sets Pid apart from other platformers is the ability to "manipulate a powerful force that can be used to maneuver around the levels in thousands of unique ways." This force can be used to "move enemies and objects, deflect bullets, activate machinery, and change level layouts." It's also got a 2-player co-op mode.
Pid is currently planned to release digitally on PC in 2012, as well as unspecified console download services.
