The promised redesign of PlayStation Home will be online starting tomorrow, Sony has announced. The revamped online platform adds new genre-based districts, and promises to focus more on what PlayStation fans expect from the service: games.

Launching with the redesign are a number of free-to-play games, including Bootleggers '29, a "100% free-to-play game" that pits avatar against avatar in an online FPS environment.

Additional games include PlayStation Home Hold 'Em, PlayStation Home Sports Trivia, RC Rally, and Cogs--a PlayStation Home version of the PC puzzle game. These games will be joined by over 230 other games that are ready to play in the online environment, such as the Uncharted 3 Fortune Hunter game. More titles are expected to launch on the service after launch, due to the alleged ease of development Home offers.

"This is a major milestone for PlayStation Network, and we are thrilled to bring a new core experience to PlayStation Home where games are front and center," Jack Buser, director of PlayStation Home, said in a press release, noting that Home has been visited by over 24 million users worldwide, with an average session time of 70 minutes. "Home's community is made up of some of the most passionate gamers on PS3, and we’ve listened to their feedback since Home launched in 2008, finally transforming Home itself into a game. This redesign marks a new beginning for PlayStation Home, and players can expect much more to come."
