Activision and the multiple development teams behind Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3--Infinity Ward, Sledgehammer Games, and Raven Software--are a few weeks away from shipping the latest game in the franchise.

To detail some changes made to the game's multiplayer mode, a new video has been released. In the video, members of the development platoon detail how the game's new weapon leveling and proficiency systems work. Now gamers have a new layer of weapon customization available to them, allowing them to do things like reduce weapon kick and even do things like melee faster with certain weapons.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 launches on the PC, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3 on November 8, 2011.

Unreal tournament had 13 or so guns, and the number hasn't changed for 10 years.

Although, the engine has changed every time. I guess it's not a good comparison.

Also no one plays Unreal Tournament and they don't make them anymore.

There really isn't any precedent in shooters for how Activision is milking Call of Duty.

BF3 has the guns, but the maps are definitely lacking.

Really? I like them alot. There's a good mix of traditional BF maps and some night urban sprawls for CQC style quick fights.

4 new weapons that they mentioned could be more also why are so many people pissed at this game if you don't like it go somewhere else. As long as it has co op multiplayer ill enjoy it with my friends not random people like on BF3

That last sentence didn't make sense at all and it really doesn't hold ground. While people have viable complaints about the Origin/Battlelog setup, it actually tries to get players connected to their friends even more so. Sure you can jump into any server, but you also have the com center and and party system to try to get everyone grouped up for a server. It really does foster your group of friends to be able to play together. Not only for Coop but competitive MP too. They actually added many ways that people can get into the same game as their friends through the Battlelog interface.

"That weapon stabilization is what makes you a better player" --˃ Translate to English --˃ "This artificial in-game assistance for your continued playing gives you a competitive advantage, while not actually making you any more skilled"

lol, that's what I was thinking too. "It lets even the shitty players an advantage if they are willing to grind enough for them."

Because the shack is BF fanboys. Battlefield 4 could be a Barbie game that shits on your chest when you start it up and you'd still see everyone screaming GOTY while rubbing their dicks all over the box.

I have no problem discussing the shortcomings of a game. What you state above is a perfectly legitimate reason to be bored with COD/MW series and not purchase their games. I just get annoyed at the fanboying when people love BF for being BF and hate on COD for being COD.

                  ...and BF isn't?

COD gives you slight improvements/variations on the MP every year, a new single player campaign and they rotate in different/updated co-op most years now as well. It's not groundbreaking, it's not revolutionary but it certain does not deserve the rabid hate it gets in the chatty.

When you look at the improvements between BFBC2 to BF3 and Gears 2 to Gears 3 it looks like they just phoned this in ... hence the $60 map pack.

I like the idea, in concept, even though it does replace skill with auto-assistance, really.

Also, this idea seems like it will just benefit the poop-sockers who race off to a big start and get tons of experience right away. In that regard, I'm not sure this is all that different from previous games in the series, sadly.

I'm still keen to play this next game in the iteration, despite the let-down that Black Ops was for me.

The thing about COD is despite all the leveling up and upgrades, capable players can still own with the default classes.

Yea. I appreciate their commitment to 60 FPS but I would really like to see an engine update next time around. I wonder if BF3 will push them to do so considering how fantastic it looks with the engine updates.

I have to say I appreciate them posting a video with high framerates in it.

Also, the gunplay in CoD4 on looks so much tighter to me than the BF games. I can't really put my finger on why, but shooting in BF never felt as solid.
