Uncharted 3's launch trailer makes a big wave

While Uncharted 3's story is still a closely-guarded secret by Naughty Dog, a new launch trailer shows Drake on his quest to find the "Atlantis of the Sands."

To kick off its nationwide tour with AMC Theaters, Naughty Dog has released a brand new launch trailer for its upcoming Uncharted 3. Although the event focused largely on a competitive multiplayer tournament, attendees were just as excited to see new footage of the single player campaign.

While Uncharted 3's story is still a closely-guarded secret by Naughty Dog, the new trailer shows Drake on his quest to find the "Atlantis of the Sands," a journey that will have him and Sullivan go against "the occult treachery of a shadowy clandestine organization and its ruthless leader."

The trailer shows off a number of returning characters, such as Elena and Chloe. The developers wouldn't reveal the nature of Elena and Nathan's relationship for the third game, but an obviously distressed Elena questions Nathan: "You're going to keep going aren't you? For what? Treasure?"

"Admit it, you love all this as much as I do," Drake replies. It's true, isn't it?

Uncharted 3 will be available on November 1st.

They are what Tomb Raider could have been had they been given a competant team and a lot of money to do things right. It has fun gameplay and fun exploration all combined into one beautiful package.

I disagree, TR has some awesome platforming, and is slightly less linear than Uncharted in the way puzzles are solved. Uncharted is an adventures game, not a platformer.

Did you play Underworld? That was a very good game, one of the best since the earlier games

Legend and Underworld were good games man. Legend being the better of the 2. Also, Guardian of Light is pretty good.

I've only played 1, and it was an amazing, cohesive and very entertaining game.
The animation, acting and story were top notch.

oh man, if you've only played 1, then you need to do yourself a favor and play through 2..it takes all the flaws of 1 and gets rid of them and adds a whole level of polish and wow-factor that was missing from the first.

They have it at the local library. I actually had it in my paws, but Dark Souls came out the same day, so UC2 went back.

            I'll get it again soon.

        Bingo.

If the PS3 versions of FPS titles were up to 64p, I'd seriously consider just keeping my console.

what? Why? I am a huge PC gamer, but there are just some games that are built for controllers and there is nothing wrong with that.

It's the whole aiming with an analog stick, I find myself fighting the controls more then enjoying them. Just a little annoyance and it's nothing that will keep me from playing this game. I would just be that much happier with KB/M.

you'll get used to it. Uncharted is a cover game which means a lot of the aiming is done while not moving which works ok on a gamepad. i am a pc player first but it's not actually that bad. cover shooting decouples movement and shooting a bit so it's a lot less of a problem than say trying to play call of duty or battlefield on consoles

takes a lot longer to get good at shooting with the controller but sometimes I prefer the slower pace.
if I'd played shooters on consoles as long as i've been mousing i might be just as proficient.

I find these 3rd party cover systems feel much better with a controller over a keyboard and mouse. The cover system in Deus Ex: HR was annoying with a keyboard.

Compared to using a controller I would have to disagree. Gears felt very unnatural after having played it with a controller. Not having analog control when moving back and forth while on a wall is the biggest problem I think.

That's cool, I just prefer using a KB/M for every game I play except racers and fighting games.

Every game that has mouse aim is worse with a controller. Every single one.
