Syndicate debut trailer gets into your head
The first trailer for Starbreeze's FPS reboot of the Syndicate series has arrived, with a fine display of mindhacks, melee moves, and man-shooting.
A dystopian cyberpunk new FPS from Starbreeze Studios certainly sounds exciting, but Syndicate's use of the beloved vintage real-time tactical Bullfrog property causes some to pause. The debut trailer has just launched, so have a watch and see if it's looking good enough for you to set aside your curmudgeonly ways.
The trailer shows hacking into enemies' heads and commanding them to do terrible deeds, melee moves, zipline infiltration, amateur surgery, and, of course, grim dystopian environments. FPS melee can be difficult for developers to pull off, but with The Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena's pleasing stabbing and tentacle-y swipes in The Darkness, Starbreeze has experience in the field.
Publisher EA has also released a second round of screenshots.
While there's little that can help if an enemy hacker gets into your head, if the trailer's soundtrack by dubstep wobble bass abuser Skrillex is stuck in that noggin of yours, you can download it simply by 'Liking' Syndicate on Facebook.
As revealed earlier this week, Syndicate is headed to PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on February 21, 2012.
