The Binding of Isaac hits Steam; discounted 10% until Oct. 5
The Binding of Isaac, the roguelike RPG-shooter from Super Meat Boy co-creator Edmund McMillen and Florian Himsl, released exclusively on Steam today at a 10% discount.
The Binding of Isaac--the latest game by indie developer Edmund McMillen (Super Meat Boy) launched this morning exclusively on Steam, along with a spanking new gameplay trailer. As previously reported, the action-based, roguelike RPG-shooter tells the story of a small naked boy trying to escape the murderous inclinations of his mother. God told her to kill Isaac, you see, and she's not one to argue with the Almighty. Not dark enough for you? Well, the game takes place in the cheery locale of Isaac's mother's basement.
In true roguelike fashion, the game includes "randomly generated dungeons, items, enemies and bosses," and will also offer multiple endings (assuming you can make it to the end!).
Normally priced at $4.99 (and a Steam exclusive), The Binding of Isaac sports a special 10%-off launch discount ($4.49) that expires on October 5. If you're a fan of Danny Baranowsky's Super Meat Boy soundtrack, you might want to pop for the version of the game that includes The Binding of Isaac's official soundtrack, which he also composed. That package is also 10% off until October 5 ($5.38), but will normally run you $5.98.
