House of the Dead: Overkill PS3 supports anaglyphic 3D
Sega has revealed that House of the Dead: Overkill - Extended Cut will include an anaglyphic 3D option in addition to stereoscopic 3D.
If you've got some old-school red-cyan 3D glasses lying around, you can dust them off to check out the new anaglyphic 3D screens for the PS3 "Extended Cut" of The House of the Dead: Overkill in all their glory. I got my hands on some of the gallery-shooter in stereoscopic 3D back at E3; however, it's nice to know that there will be a cheap 3D option for those who aren't quite ready or able to foot the bill for a 3D television.
So, now there are technically four ways to play The House of the Dead: Overkill - Extended Cut. Stereoscopic 3D has both active and passive modes, paper glasses and anaglyphic 3D add a third option, or you can just play regular vanilla 2D, if you choose.
The Sega blog notes that picking up the game in Europe at launch will net you two pairs of the red-cyan paper 3D glasses, "at no additional cost." Curiously, there's no mention of a similar deal in other regions, which means that some folks may need to scare up a pair of the the retro eyewear on their own.
The House of the Dead: Overkill - Extended Cut comes out exclusively for PlayStation 3 on October 28th in Europe, and October 25th in the United States.
