New Suikoden coming to PlayStation Portable
At TGS 2011, Konami announced a new Suikoden game for the PSP. The game doesn't have a release date or price set yet.
As PlayStation Vita prepares to take center stage of Sony's portable theater, the PSP is still getting a few last moments to shine. Games like Corpse Party and Persona 2 are still due, and at least one more high-profile franchise is getting a new release -- at least in Japan. At the Tokyo Game Show 2011, Konami announced a new Suikoden title in the works.
Push Square reports that the new title is called, "Genso Suikoden: Tsumugareshi Hyakunen no Toki." Just rolls off the tongue, doesn't it? A date and price are still pending, and this might be a case of coming too late in the cycle to make it an English translation worth it for the company. Shacknews has contacted Konami regarding localization, but has yet to hear back at the time of publishing.
In the meantime, check out the debut trailer of the game below.

This is good news! Even though I don't own or plan on owning a PSP.
Konami had announced a while ago that there may not be anymore Suikoden games because the the creative team no longer worked for them but that they were making attempts to get them on board again to make some more games. It looks like they may have done so meaning we might get another mainline game in the future.

Unfortunately, it's very unlikely to be anywhere near as good as the 1 or 2. The series creator left Konami a long time ago and Konami has publicly said they no longer have a JRPG team. That's why they had Tri-Ace develop Suikoden Tierkreis. The trailer makes references to a hundred worlds as well, meaning it's probably something else in the same vein as Tierkreis. So it'll probably really suck.
