Tenchu dev's Clan of Champions announced
Way of the Samurai and Tenchu dev Acquire's "hardcore multiplayer action game" is coming to North America and Europe in Spring 2012.
Tenchu and Way of the Samurai developer Acquire's "hardcore multiplayer action game" Clan of Champions (a working title) is coming Westward to PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, publisher NIS America has announced.
Clan of Champions will see players as an elf, orc or human, venturing into various "missions" solo or with two chums in three player co-op. There'll also be a 3v3 competitive "team battle" mode, to hack each other to pieces. NIS gives very few concrete details on the game, but the "hardcore" keyword and medieval fantasy stylings might hint at a Demon's Souls-y sort of thing.
As well as having stats and whatnot, players will be progressing by unlocking skills and moves for weapon types as you use them. Almost certainly you'll also be earning beefy new weapons and loot through missions.
Clan of Champions is slated for release in North America and Europe in the spring of 2012. NIS promises "a large amount of DLC" post-release in the form of new quests, items and weapons, which sounds fitting for a game based upon individual missions.
