Serious Sam: Kamikaze Attack hits today
The explosive auto-runner Serious Sam: Kamikaze Attack launched today for Android and iOS at the special introductory price of 99¢.
Serious Sam: Kamikaze Attack, the second of Serious Sam 3: BFE's promo indie spin-offs, exploded onto Android and iOS today.
Kamikaze Attack casts players as one of the series' dreaded Beheaded Kamikaze enemies, chasing down star Sam Stone to blow him to smithereens. It's an 'auto-runner' game, in the same vein as Canabalt and Robot Unicorn Attack, having you dodge obstacles and punt missiles back at Sam to bring him down.
You can give it a bash right now in the brower-based demo.
"Serious Sam: Kamikaze Attack will revolutionize the world of games you can play on the toilet," Devolver Digital chief financial officer Fork Parker said in the announcement. "Though expect some stares from other restroom patrons once people hear all the kamikaze screams coming from your stall. Trust me, it gets weird."
Serious Sam: Kamikaze Attack is available from the Android Market and iTunes at a special launch price of 99¢, but there's no word on how long this will hold.
The first Serious Sam Indie was the bizarre gun-stacking shooter from Mommy's Best Games, which launched on PC in August and is due an Xbox 360 release too. The last in the series will be Super Crate Box developer Vlambeer's curious turn-based RPG Serious Sam: The Random Encounter. Serious Sam 3 itself is slated to launch for PC on October 18.
