What exactly is "The Baconing," you might ask. Is it a reckoning of epic proportions that just happens to smell wonderful ? Well, yes; however, it's also the name of the third game in the DeathSpank series from developer Hothead Games.
Shacknews has five PC codes (for Steam) for The Baconing, and we want to give them to five lucky Shackers. What's more, the game is SteamPlay-enabled, meaning you can play on either the PC or Mac.
- Entering the contest is simple, just follow a few simple instructions:
- Leave a comment below telling us your favorite bacon-based dish
- You must be 18 years or older and a resident of the United States or Canada (excluding Puerto Rico and Quebec)
- Limit 1 entry per person (Only your first comment will be counted)
- The entry period ends at 12:00PM PT Monday, 09/05/2011
- At that time, we will randomly select five (5) winners to each receive one (1) Steam code for The Baconing (MSRB $14.99 each)

The secret is not just to have bacon bits in the salad, but to prep the potatoes right:
(1) Boil whole potatoes until desired firmness (keep them a little on the firm side)
(2) Peel them
(3) keep them in the fridge 24 hours
(4) slice them as desired for the salad
(5) Fry up desired amount of bacon in pan and leave the grease in the pan
(5) Fry the potato slices in bacon grease
