We already knew of a few of the new features coming to Dead Rising 2: Off the Record, but now a new one is being added to the list: a sandbox mode. Capcom promises that the mode will be available from the start in both single-player and co-op modes, allowing zombie-killers to get in all their zombie-killing without fretting over the clock.

Besides letting you explore Fortune City without fear of reprisal, the mode will offer its own challenges with leaderboard support. Capcom teases the names of three: "Rumble in the Jungle," "Chop Suey," and "Silver Strip Smackdown."

Dead Rising 2: Off the Record is essentially Dead Rising 2 Redux, with 100% more Frank West. It will bring back the photography mechanic from the first game, plus new combo weapons, environments, enemies, smoother online play, and shorter load times. The game is due on PC, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360 on October 11 in North America, and October 14 in Europe.
