Battlefield 3 team deathmatch supports 24 players on all platforms
DICE has revealed that Battlefield 3's Team Deathmatch mode will be limited to 24 players on the PC, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3.
Team Deathmatch in Battlefield 3 will focus on a infantry warfare, DICE has revealed. Though the PC version of the game features 64 player Conquest mode battles, which were demoed at Gamescom last week, Battlefield 3's Team Deathmatch mode will be limited to 24 players on PC as well as on consoles.
Though it seems like a substantial difference versus the game's major online mode, it is still bigger than Battlefield: Bad Company 2, which only supported eight players per side in Team Deathmatch.
DICE has also confirmed that vehicles will not be available in Battlefield 3's Team Deathmatch mode. According to fan site BF3blog.com, the mode will focus on "tight infantry portions of regular maps," with hopes to keep the action intense.
Battlefield 3 is scheduled to launch on October 25 on the PC, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3.

Yeah. It's a token gesture and DICE covering their bases. I am amazed at how much stuff they're putting into BF3. Campaign, coop, multi (rush, conquest, deathmatch). This is the most comprehensive release I can think of. I only wish it has customizable characters/avatars because I like outfitting my soldier with cosmetic gear.

Ah man, 24 players?!?!!? OMG THATS SO AWESOME!!!!
*sigh* You know there is a reason consoles don't have 'big' games. It's because you play with shitty little nubs that make aiming impossible so you have to funnel people down hallways to make things easy to hit.
I don't think the majority of players actually care about TDM or even DM in general anymore... In my opinion, if there isn't an objective it doesn't keep my interest. Killing people is just a side effect of accomplishing what I set out to do.-

Besides the fact that he was talking about analog sticks, I mostly see videos like this posted by people playing on consoles.

The console breed of wookiee appears to be an especially small brained creature.

I haven't played 1943, but Coral Sea in BF42 was exactly what I'm talking about. Fun distraction and a decent learning map. Dog fighting as well as bombing and strafing runs with the AA guns on nearby islands people would use if they bailed out.
I don't know what changed in 43 (as far as flight model, planes, hit registration?), but any map gets old if you play it constantly. It was a good change of pace from all the ground pounding in 1942 and gave the non-pilots a chance to fly. I can imagine if it was only one of four maps like 43 it would get played out a lot quicker.
