Elevator Action Deluxe coming to PS3 on August 30
Elevator Action Deluxe will come to PS3 on August 30 for $9.99, complete with new multiplayer modes and missions.
Elevator Action Deluxe has gotten a firm release date, and it's closer than you might have thought. The retro throwback action title is due exclusively on the PlayStation 3 on August 30 in North America for $9.99. The update promises new modes, multiplayer, and tweaks on the old formula.
Famitsu (via Andriasang) provides details on what changes to expect from the classic. Deluxe will add new weapons, high-speed elevators, and long ropes.
It will also include both co-op and competitive offline multiplayer. Co-op is a fairly straight-forward attempt to get through missions together, but competitive comes in three flavors. 1 Door Battle has you fighting to steal the single red file from the red door, while 8 Door Battle offers various red doors and has players fight to collect the most. In Death Match is, as you might expect, you have to defeat all of your opponents for the high score.
The game is being developed by Taito and published by Square Enix, as part of its effort to give old franchises a fresh coat of polish. Given the quality of Space Invaders Infinity Gene, there's reason to have faith Agent 17's return.
