The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim 'Collector's Edition' announced
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is getting a Collector's Edition, Bethesda announced during QuakeCon 2011.
"You should have acted! They're already here!" are the wise words that introduced the first trailer for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, which will no doubt be the words yelled at us by game retailer employees as they berate us for not pre-ordering the just announced Skyrim Collector's Edition on launch day.
At QuakeCon 2011, Bethesda revealed the Collector's Edition of its upcoming title, which packs a multitude of extras for the dragon-sized price of $150.
The Collector's Edition of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim will be available on the PC, Xbox 360, and PS3. The set will be available in the US ($150), Europe (€149.99), UK (£129.99) , and Australia (A$199.99). The set [High-Res image here] includes:
- Alduin Statue: Created in conjunction with the IP Factory, this collector's only statue stands 12" tall and is made of high quality PVC. Modeled from actual in-game 3D digital files, it showcases Alduin, the World Eater. He stands perched atop one the game’s many dragon walls that teach the player the lethal language of dragons.
- The 'Art of Skyrim' Official Art Book: Featuring over 200 pages of striking, full-color illustrations, sketches and models, this stunning 9 3/8" x 12 1/8" coffee table book showcases the characters, creatures, environments, and weaponry of Skyrim. With a foreword by game director Todd Howard and commentary from Bethesda Game Studios artists, readers will be guided through the game's iconic visual style.
- The Making of The Elder Scrolls V Skyrim DVD: This documentary DVD contains exclusive, behind-the-scenes footage, including interviews with the Bethesda Game Studios team as they take you from concept to creation and provide insights into the story, gameplay, setting, legacy of the Elder Scrolls franchise, and much more.

Huge disappointment. Oblivion's was a way better value. DVD is meh, statue is meh, and you know they're going to sell the art book separately... Plus no mention of the map being better than the "burlap paper" one that comes with all pre-orders or any kind of special packaging? How do you put the Oblivion 5-year anniversary in a metal tin, but not this?
