[Original Story] You could wait until August 4 to play the Resistance 3 beta, or you could start today. Which would you prefer?
Shacknews has 20 codes for the Resistance 3 multiplayer beta to giveaway, enabling access to the test immediately. To get you on your way, the giveaway will run until 3pm PT today, so get those entries in!
Beta access will open for owners of "specially marked copies" of SOCOM 4 on August 4 and PlayStation Plus users on August 23. Resistance 3 from developer Insomniac launches for the PS3 on September 6.
- Entering the giveaway is simple, you just have to follow a few rules:
- Leave a comment below telling us your favorite Resistance weapon
- You must be 18 years or older and a resident of the United States or Canada (excluding Puerto Rico and Quebec)
- Limit 1 entry per person (Only your first comment will be counted)
The entry period ends at 3:00PM PT today, 08/02/2011This giveaway has ended- At that time, we will randomly select twenty (20) winners to each receive one (1) PlayStation Network code for access to the Resistance 3 multiplayer beta

Hmmm.. favorite weapon.. hard question for me.. But I'd go with the Splitter. It sucks how it's not in the multiplayer though.

I always liked the Hedgehog Grenades. Just the way they spike into everything and skewer guys to walls. So fun.

Gotta say I loved the auger the most. Shooting through walls at unsuspecting enemies never got old to me.

Easily the Marksman with the Hawkeye scope. Great range, great power but can still be used up close if you need to.

The Bullseye, those red pointy things (probably to keep it cool) made it look good, and it was handy at close range against those unbalanced HVAP Wraiths in the competitive MP (they ruined part 2's competitive MP IMO).
But the most powerful (at least in the single player) gun for me was the HE .44 Magnum, it had the most powerful bullets, and it was satisfying seeing your enemies explode after detonating the bullets. -
