You've read Xav's E3 preview of Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary, right? But can you really trust his opinion? Microsoft released a new video walkthrough of the E3 demo for Comic Con attendees. Thankfully, you won't have to trek to San Diego. You can watch it right here, from the comfort of your home.

One of the coolest features of the upcoming Anniversary edition of the game is "Classic Mode," which allows you to toggle between the updated graphics and the classic visuals with a click of a button. It really is quite jarring, and this video does a great job of demonstrating how far the visuals have progressed since the Xbox launch.

Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary releases on November 15, and will also feature Kinect support. Pre-orders receive a special Skull game mod.

        My thoughts exactly.

Just don't mention it in front of a load of nostalgia-whores. It ain't worth the trouble.

Funny they kept the multi player like reach and didn't change the single player. i was hoping that they wouldn't have touched the original multiplayer and improved the campaign.

Also the pistol was never over powered for the campaign it completely sucked when it came to bringing down shields. The plasma rifle was way better for mowing down enemies.

you didnt hear? Halo CEA is such a powerful game it needs DirectX 11 to run and windows professional 64 bit.. and since having such a requirement they decided not to even bother launching it for the pc this time. and this has nothing to do with Micro$oft competing with itself.

Wow, it's official. People that either hate Halo, or don't really care either way, will find something to complain about. Now, I'll admit I was looking forward to them updating the gameplay as well, but this is perfectly fine. I can't pretend that I like the fact that they changed the multiplayer all together, but that does not mean that this "remastering" isn't worth it. And just because it doesn't come out on the PC does not mean that it isn't worth it either. In fact, releasing it on the PC would be giving fans confusing messages, as this is a celebration of the anniversary of the first game to really sell the possibility of great FPS games on CONSOLES. Releasing it on PC would just dumb down the whole point of this re-release.

What do you think are the chances that they will give Halo 2 this same treatment?

I doubt they will, but at the same time wouldn't be surprised. Gotta milk this cow as long as possible. I just hope 343 doesn't completely jump the shark with halo 4. Bungie really redeemed themselves with reach after releasing that POS Halo 3.
