Gratuitous Tank Battles set for PC, Mac
Gratuitous Space Battles developer Positech Games has revealed its next title, an alternate history tank battle RTS/Tower Defense mash-up dubbed Gratuitous Tank Battles.
Gratuitous Space Battles developer Positech Games has revealed its next title, proving once again the indie dev has a penchant for selecting apt video game names. Positech's next game, brilliantly titled Gratuitous Tank Battles, is expected to arrive during Q4 2011 on the PC and Mac.
"Gratuitous Tank Battles is an RTS/Tower Defense hybrid with online elements and customisable units," the game's official site reads.
Players are set to take on the role of either defender or attacker throughout the adventure, which will feature "a built-in map editor" that will "allow easy sharing of custom maps and defensive challenges with other GTB players" similar to the Gratuitous Space Battles community.
The game takes place during an alternate reality where the superpowers refused to end the first "great war," and thus is rages on for another two hundred years.
"Soldiers still fight in the trenches of the Somme, although rifles have (mostly) become laser rifles and giant armored mechs stride across no-mans land." Did someone say 'Laser rifles'? Deal.

The writeup that PRSG did made it sounds really solid in addressing GSB's flaws
