Shack PSA: PSN 'Welcome Back' offer extended
The PlayStation Network 'Welcome Back' offer of free games and PS Plus membership has been extended until July 5, giving everyone one last, last chance to redeem their freebies.
In the wake of the PlayStation Network hack and lengthy downtime for the online service, Sony offered free games and a month's PlayStation Plus membership as part of a 'Welcome Back' package. PlayStation 3 and PSP owners were to have until July 3 to select their freebies but some were caught off-guard by Sony's timing.
The Welcome Back offer was pulled early in the day on July 3, surprising users who expected to have the entire day to redeem their goodies; Sony had not specified a time. Fortunately for the indecisive, Sony has chosen to extend the offer a teensy bit. You now have until 9am Pacific on Tuesday, July 5 to grab your free games. Note the time and consider that a final, final deadline.
PS3 owners can choose two free downloadable games from the list of Dead Nation, inFamous, LittleBigPlanet, Super Stardust HD, and Wipeout HD plus its 'Fury' expansion. PSP owners get two out of LittleBigPlanet, ModNation Racers, Pursuit Force, and Killzone Liberation.
