E3 2011 is over, but that only means we can get back to playing games. Check out what Team Shack is playing and drop in to let us know what you're up to this weekend.
We walked out of E3 2011 with new details on NIntendo and Sony's next hardware, examples of Kinect's core focus, and a ton of experience with the industry's upcoming games.
But, all good things must come to an end. It's time to get back to our own piles of games that are begging to be completed.

- Garnett Lee: After missing most of the E3 party card, I’m hopping over to Vegas for a cocktail by the pool. When I get back I’ll be starting in on Shadows of the Damned for our review and trying to wrap up my XBLA play through of Torchlight.
- Xav de Matos: I have been hit with a terrible cold, so while I'm not coughing up a storm I'll be playing The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time and Child of Eden for review, along with a little Duke Nukem Forever.
- Andrew Yoon: After E3, I think I'm done with this whole "gaming" nonsense. If I do decide to play something, it will be LA Noire. Maybe I should also pick up Infamous 2.
- Alice O'Connor: Playing video games is for children. Me, I'm at a game jam all weekend, making video games. Very, very poor video games.
- Jeff Mattas: I’ll be doing a lot of post-E3 napping, but am looking forward to getting back into Witcher 2. Kind of curious to check out Infamous 2, as well.
- Steve Watts: Pushing through Duke Nukem Forever for review, punctuated with Infamous 2 and LA Noire.
- Ozzie Mejia: After an intense E3 week, this is the kind of weekend to just lay on the couch and recover, squeezing in L.A. Noire here and there.

I'm trying to like this game. I am going around and "scouting" all of the checkpoints. I am finding diamonds here and there, but not getting anywhere the amount of money I need to purchase the guns I unlock from doing the weapons shop missions. I am still not entirely sure what I should be doing, or the best way to go about playing this game.

Play it! It's crazy awesome, and even though it may not suit all tastes, those who enjoy insanity (and Japanity) will have a blast. I'm Mr. Hardcore PC FPS guy, and God of War 3 never grabbed me after trying a few minutes of gameplay, but the bizarre Prologue intro to Bayonetta (as annotated by the Unskippable crew: http://www.escapistmagazine.com/videos/view/unskippable/1474-Bayonetta ) had me laughing, and the Giant Bomb quick look sealed it.

My advice: fight through it the first time even if you keep dying tons of times (ignore the low end-of-chapter awards; you can clean these up later once you get the strategy down). Consult a strategy guide if necessary, but I can send a condensed list of things that really help that aren't too hard to memorize.
For the playthroughs after the first playthrough:
- Get all of the Angelic Hymn Gold LPs to get all of the standard weapons (on my first run through I had only picked up Onyx Roses, Shuraba, and Durga; it's very possible to beat the game with just Scarborough Fair and Shuraba, but the other weapons add versatility and variety to gameplay
- Play through the game in Very Easy (I set an adjacent save for just this during the time I was in the first playthrough on Normal). The "one button mode" is really an auto-combo-complete function that chooses the best combo, plus it can automatically dodge if you're attacked at the instant you press the Punch or Kick button. You can disable it by unequipping the "Immortal Marionette" if you want to practice specific combos.
- Get the "Umbran Elegance" items
- Finish 100 chapters and save their progress; you'll get a bonus item.
