Team Fortress 2 Saxxy Award winners announced

You'll laugh, you'll cry, you'll seen full-grown men blown into tiny little pieces, as the 20 winners of TF2's video making contest have been announced.

Amidst all the E3 hubbub, the winners of the year's most prestigious awards show were announced yesterday--the Team Fortress 2 Saxxy Awards. The Saxxies were created to the launch of its video editing tools, encouraging players to make their own home movies for a wide variety of award categories.

Valve did indeed make good on its promise of giving winners "a foot-high bust of an almost entirely naked Australian man," awarding them their very own Saxxy. An in-game weapon usable by all classes, the Saxxy possess a terrible power to turn all those it strikes down into solid gold--much like the Golden Wrench.

Do check out all of the winners, but here's a little teaser--the winner in the 'Best Overall' category, 'El Muchacho Trailer' by XLR.

I AM El Muchacho. And for those of you who voted for us in any of the categories, thank you!

Uncertain what we'll do with it just yet. But I'd love to play Muchacho again, I always enjoy Pyro roles. Played the main Pyro in A Granary Adventure: The Underdog as well.

I did vote for you in at least one of the categories. Great work giving it an appropriately action-y / spaghetti western type feel. Good length, doesn't drag the overall concept out too long, really enjoyable piece.
