Need for Speed The Run revealed: you run
You'll be zipping around on foot as well as in fast cars in the new Need for Speed, EA has revealed with a five-minute demonstration. The name's a dead give-away, in retrospect.
Electronic Arts was somewhat vague about Need for Speed The Run when it announced the game back in April, leaving us to imagine yet another game simply of driving fast cars. Turns out, it's a bit more complicated than that.
Five minutes of Black Box's racer was demonstrated at E3 yesterday and, it turns out that, as well as driving on cars, you'll also be running on foot. Hence the name. In retrospect, it's obvious.
Need for Speed The Run is slated to launch for PC, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii and Nintendo 3DS on November 15. Here's the E3 demo:

I saw this on the EA press conference and thought it was just dumb. You aren't running.. you are tapping buttons to watch a movie. It's stupid. If they want to put running into a racing game.. then get the technology from Mirro's Edge and make it like that. This stuff was stupid. To me it looked like just another developer trying to cash in on the Call of Duty style of Action movie 'corridor gaming' (running in a straight line and shit happens all around you to make you feel like you are doing something).
