[Update 12:20] We've added the announcement trailer below.

[Original Story] Lionhead's Peter Molyneux showed up at Microsoft's press briefing today to announce Fable: The Journey. The Kinect-exclusive game takes place after the age of Heroes (in the Fable sense). After a brief trailer, a gameplay demo showed the on-stage demonstrator controlling the reigns of a horse, using a melee attack, and casting magic with gesture controls.

The conference is currently underway, Shacknews will update this post as more information is made available.

I always wonder who is actually playing Fable games. They do sell, apparently, and I don't know why and who buys them.

I bought them all. Fable 2 was the best one.

Fable 1 was great, needed a little tweaking but it was great. Fable 2 did some things I didn't like, removed too many variables like Armor. But seriously, not many games do what Fable does. No it didn't live up to his original vision of the game but it still has great art direction and interesting AI elements. I hope they keep producing them as I would like to see how far it can go.

Fable 1 was great although short, fable 2 was pretty fun. Didn't play 3.

These Kinect games makes me think of an advanced Dragon Lair's games... Simple gestures does everything.
