The weekend is once again upon us and it's a long one, with both the UK and USA having a holiday day on Monday. Many of you will get nervous and anxious being forced out of the office for an extra day but don't worry, if you can survive Monday, they'll let you back in for lovely, lovely work. Perhaps you'd better stock up on cheap games to keep you distracted? While several sites are offering deals on Total War: Shogun 2 this weekend, the best deal is at Get Games.       I couldn't help it and bought Total War: Shogun 2. The demo was lots of fun.

      Also RAPTOR: CALL OF THE SHADOWS?!! 2010 EDITION!?? HNGGGHHH!!

        I've never been able to get into any of the Total War games even though I want to. I just downloaded the Shogun 2 demo so maybe this will be different.

          I was the same, they weren't very appealing to me, but I liked how Shogun 2 set things up. It's much easier to get into the game and start playing. Plus the added RPG element really makes it interesting.

            At 40% off on Get Games I finally caved and got Shogun 2. With the extra 7% saving over Steam's 33% I was able to get the DLC also for no more than the game on Steam, sans DLC.

            Yeah, it looks like there's an overall country-wide map and you can take over swaths of land or something along those lines?

            I'm hoping I can get into this one, I've always been fascinated by old-old-old-school warfare.

        Quick highlights: Alpha Protocol, Batman, Braid, Dark Void, Just Cause 2, Trine all 75% off; Borderlands, Darksiders, Mafia 2, Metro 2033, Patrician 4 all 50% off.

        OnLive deals are harder to track and link, thanks to no individual game pages. I should know: I've got a blog (dddeals.blogspot.com) where I track digital distribution discounts.

        This week, OnLive has an "up to 75% off" holiday discount for select titles. The promo page (http://www.onlive.com/go/mem-day-2011) is useless - it's just another signup link. You should be looking at the list of OnLive "specials" (http://www.onlive.com/games/featuredgames#&sortby=alpha&tab=sale_games) for all the discounted titles instead.

        Are people interested? Digital distribution's digital distribution, so it's all of general interest, but OnLive's something else.

          I'm certainly interested. However, 2 things:

          1) I'm probably the only fan/user of OnLive on this entire site (sadly), and

          2) I keep track of OnLive sales on my own anyway lol.
