Dead Space 2 getting free multiplayer maps

Dead Space 2 is getting a free content update that will add two more multiplayer maps, according to the game's Facebook page. The maps are titled the Academy and the Concourse, bundled together as the "Outbreak Map Pack." The pack will hit Xbox Live on May 31, and then come to PSN on June 3. No PC plans were mentioned.

If you're thinking, "wait, June 3 isn't a Tuesday," you're a smart cookie. June 3 is actually a Friday, and one of the dates mentioned in the reportedly leaked memo regarding the PlayStation Store's twice-weekly publishing schedule.

Sony's Patrick Seybold was quick to point out that "no specific date" has been given, but this seems to point towards at least one publisher counting on that leaked schedule moving forward as planned. If that's the case, it would mean that we'll see the PlayStation Store resume operations tomorrow.

  I loved the single player of this game in fact I just started my second go at it this past weekend. PC version runs and looks great. Too bad its not getting any of the DLC love even though I'm not interested in the MP part others might be.

  Visceral thanks you greatly for buying their game and supporting their livelihoods... unless you did it on PC, you dirty plebeian. Then you are worthy only of derision and disgust.

  Has anyone even tried the MP? I love the SP so far but it's hard to imagine MP being much fun. Kind of like with Bioshock 2, I never saw the point of it.

    I tried the MP for DS2 and it was laggy and not very fun. Really disappointing because I loved the SP.

  First PC gamers don't get the first expansion and we had to hack the game to get the in game Items, now we don't get the free multi player maps... WAY TO GO VISCERAL! u guys sure know how to make PC gamers feel screwed.
