Today Warner Bros and TT Games announced Lego Harry Potter: Years 5-7. The game is due out this holiday season for PC, PS3, 360, Wii, NGP, PSP, DS, and 3DS.
Warner Bros Interactive Entertainment and TT Games announced Lego Harry Potter: Years 5-7, which must be incredibly shocking to anyone who didn't notice that the last one was called Lego Harry Potter: Years 1-4. The game is due out this holiday season for just about every platform imaginable: PC, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii, NGP, PSP, DS, 3DS, and Commodore 64. Okay, we made that last one up.
The new game is based on the three books (and four films) that resolve the Potter franchise, leading to the dramatic final battle with Voldemort. While not a direct movie tie-in, the game goes hand-in-hand with the final film, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2, which is coming to theaters in July.
"In Lego Harry Potter: Years 5-7, we are giving gamers a truly epic conclusion to the most successful movie franchise in history with delightful gameplay for fans of all ages," said TT Games managing director Tom Stone, in the announcement. "We have built upon the first game and are giving fans even more magical abilities, puzzle solving and exploration, in addition to our distinctive brand of hilarious Lego humor and charm."
TT Games just recently released Lego Pirates of the Caribbean last week. It's probably safe to assume that the studio has at least a few Lego games in the planning stages at any given time, so place your bets on the next franchise to get made into little plastic bricks.
