More details on the characters of Assassin's Creed Revelations have sprung, courtesy of Game Informer. As previously reported, Ezio heads to Constantinople to learn more about his ancestor, Altair. And as fans speculated, it will be Ezio reliving Altair's memories, not Desmond.

Assassin's Creed Revelations

New characters added to the series include a mixture of real-life historical figures and new fictional characters. The real life figures include Manuel Palaeologos, and Prince Suleiman. In the game, Palaeologos has ties to the remaining Byzantine faction and Templar order, but his loyalty to both is in doubt. Suleiman is one of most famous rulers in history, but in the game is only 17 years old and dealing with family conflict. Sofia Sorto, a fictional character, is based on Albrecht Durer's painting, Portrait of a Young Venetian Woman. She'll serve as Ezio's love interest in the game, but he can't tell her about being in league with the Assassins. Yusuf Tazim, meanwhile, is a grand master Assassin in the local Constantinople chapter, and will teach Ezio some new tricks, such as using the hook blade for fighting and quickly navigating environments. Ubisoft is also tying the multiplayer character models to the single-player story more strongly than in Assassin's Creed Brotherhood. Characters will unlock in the single-player game, and some multiplayer characters will be recognizable faces from the story. These include the Vanguard, a Cossack looking for revenge against the Ottoman Empire; the Guardian, a Templar faithful and estranged cousin of the first Sultan of the Sennar Sultanate; the Bombardier, a triple agent who works for the Ottoman corps, is a member of anti-Ottoman rebels, and feeds the Templars information; and the Sentinal, a former Assassin who left the order when they formed an alliance with the Ottomans. Assassin's Creed Revelations is set to wrap up the story of Ezio and Altair in November.

I have a feeling this series is going to end up like CoD. Reskined crap, but its popular because of all the fanboys. The first 3 were pretty much the same thing with a different story.

        Says Desmond himself! O.O

I thought the second game was a huge leap forward after the first game. The third one was pretty much like the second for single-player, but introduced some very fun multiplayer.

I must say, if the CoD people are having as much fun as I have playing AC:Bro, then it all makes sense. I got sick of the CoD games a while ago, and haven't really enjoyed a Military shooter in a while. I just got burned out. Assassin's Creed, on the other hand, just keeps getting more and more fun for me. I haven't yet finished the latest one, but I have yet to be bored with it. I will happily buy Revelations just to play "more reskinned crap," because it doesn't feel like that to me. I mean, sure, the basic structure of "those guys are bad, you need to stab them in the face" is there, but that's kinda the point. I WANT a reason to go stab guys in the face in awesome ways! Give me more! :)

I play these games pretty much _only_ for the story. The climbing/running mechanics are fun too. Combat sucks compared to Batman: AA.

Good to hear. I haven't experienced too much of it in ASSBRO yet, just starting out.

But it felt awful in AC2. You'd keep smacking the guys and they would defend for minutes, walking really far away from where u started smacking them. It was just ridiculous.

It felt much more well refined in AC1, where having quick reflexes to do counters worked well.

While I enjoy the game play, I've been fascinated by the story throughout the series. It's only gotten more interesting as the games have gone by. Your comparison of Assassins Creed to the CoD games is ludicrous at best.

What if it's not really Desmond4231...

What if it's some human controlling him.

Much like Ezio was controlled by Desmond4231.

And the ending is very cliffhangy. Can't wait for the next one.

Wasn't that the case for the first one too? Not so much the second I believe.

Not the first one, but yes on the second one, given (AC2 ending spoilers) Minerva directly addresses Desmond when it is Ezio who encounters her.
