Dark Souls pre-order 'Collector's Edition' revealed
Dark Souls gets a 'Collector's Edition,' offered as a pre-order for the same price as the standard edition of the game. You may also want to purchase another controller, as you may go through a few if the game is anything like Demon's Souls.
Much in the way EA automatically 'upgrades' standard editions of its games to 'Limited' releases with bonus material, Namco Bandai has revealed a somewhat similar offer for From Software's Dark Souls.
Available for pre-order now for the standard edition price of $59.99, the Dark Souls 'Collector's Edition' includes an art book, a mini-strategy guidebook, behind-the-scenes videos, and the game's soundtrack for digital download. According to Namco Bandai, "all of this will come packaged with the standard edition game in a custom-designed metal case."
It's unclear if the offer only extends to pre-orders. Shacknews has contacted Namco Bandai for clarification, but has yet to hear back at the time of publishing. Pre-orders for the game can be accessed on the game's official site.
Dark Souls is currently slated to launch for the Xbox 360 and PS3 sometime in October 2011. The game is the spiritual successor to the 2009 PS3-exclusive Demon's Souls.
