Backbreaker: Vengeance announced for XBLA
An Xbox Live Arcade game based upon the Euphoria-powered football game Backbreakers's Tackle Alley mode is due to launch this summer.
A follow-up to NaturalMotion's wince-inducing American football game Backbreaker is on its way to Xbox Live Arcade this summer, publisher 505 Games has announced.
Backbreaker: Vengeance, as it's called, is based upon the original's Tackle Alley mini-game and promises "an all-new arcade slant on football."
Once again, animation is powered by NaturalMotion's Euphoria tech which, honestly, was the main hook for the original. If you didn't play Backbreaker, Euphoria's what makes it look so wonderful when people fall over in Grand Theft Auto IV, Red Dead Redemption and Star Wars: The Force Unleashed.
"Backbreaker: Vengeance for Xbox Live Arcade focuses on the aspects of American football our fans love: incredible euphoria animations, gut-busting collisions, deceptive juke maneuvers and a pick-up-and-play feel," said NaturalMotion CEO Torsten Reil in the announcement.
Backbreaker: Vengeance will hit Xbox Live Arcade this summer. Pricing has not yet been revealed.
