Fallout: New Vegas stability patch, DLC incoming

Bethesda has announced that a patch for Fallout: New Vegas is on the way to solve some fan requests, and to lay the groundwork for an upcoming downloadable content release. A post from senior producer Jason Bergman indicates that the next DLC is actually already done, but the developer has been waiting to complete a patch first.
Though the original DLC for Fallout: New Vegas was exclusive to the Xbox 360 for a period of time, Bethesda previously revealed that all future content would appear on all three platforms simultaneously.
"The good news is that we do have such a patch and it's been handed off to the necessary platform owners," Bergman said. "It should be released in the next couple of weeks on 360, PS3 and PC (can't be more specific than that, I'm afraid, although PC will almost certainly get it first)."
The patch is said to include optimization, stability improvements, some bug fixes, and weapon and balance tweaks. Bergman says this fixes most of the crashes and lockups that have been bothering fans since launch. "We know we're not done yet," he said. "There's still more work to do, and we'll be monitoring the forums very carefully following the release of this patch, looking for more issues. We do have another update planned further down the line."
Bergman also apologizes for the last few months of quiet, and teases the unnamed DLC. The timing is interesting, as rumors cropped up yesterday from Duck and Cover regarding the next DLC. They claim it will be titled "Honest Hearts," and it's possibly set to be revealed at a Bethesda event in Utah later this week. We'll have to see if that rumor pans out, but Bergman's promise of an impending DLC announcement means we're bound to see something soon.

I thought it was pretty good. I got a solid 7 hours out of it for $10, so it's a decent value if nothing else.
I play on Very Hard and Hardcore mode. The DLC is a self-contained segment that is only tangentially related to the main game story. It also strips away all your gear, making it a bigger challenge than anything in the normal game -- I personally thought it was pretty hard.
Gameplay is very linear and a bit gimmicky with all the environmental death traps. The stealth segments didn't annoy me as much as other people, I found them to be very easy and not frustrating at all.
Honestly though, I mainly bought it just for the increased level cap to 35. None of the new perks are worth mentioning, they're all low level and forgettable.-
My appreciation if Dead Money went up a little more when I read Chris Avellone's design goals for the project.

I pretty much agree with his assessment. It wasn't scary like he planned, and doesn't really change the core gameplay to a large degree. It does bring back high difficulty combat, survival elements, and emphasize scavenging.

This. I had just about the same amount of problems with NV that I had with FO3 (luckily pretty much the same fixes/mods were available to remedy them), but the game itself was much closer to what I expected out of a Fallout sequel than FO3 was. Not to say FO3 was a bad game, but it's pretty lame that NV got the worse reviews on average. I don't get it. Perhaps I was just lucky with the bugs...

That's the impression I got. Haven't played it yet though due to all the warnings of glitches.
