Bad news Duke Nukem fans: Gearbox has made the long-awaited return of the 90s video icon both serious and somber. If you're looking for proof, look no further than the two recently released gameplay trailers for Duke Nukem Forever.
In the video series entitled "What Would Duke Do," the game's titular hero shows his age and Gearbox Software's new serious direction when he questions his own motives behind the picking up and throwing of randomly discovered excrement.
It seems pretty clear the entire thing is ruined because the Duke we knew wouldn't bat an eye at the prospect of throwing feces around the universe. The second video features Duke hijacking a jetpack. We're not sure who Gearbox ruined that part, but we're sure they did somehow.
You've disappointed us, Gearbox.
Duke Nukem Forever will launch for the PC, Xbox 360, and PS3 on June 14 in North America.

Things operate on a schedule. Maybe we should schedule Chatty posts!
Auto-play is a bug, read about it here: http://www.shacknews.com/chatty?id=25563460#itemanchor_25563460

Signed. I'm reading this from my phone (which is a legit way of browsing the internet these days, to silence all trolls living in the past) and the videos autoplay. Plus the 720p looks quite a bit uglier both here and on my desktop than it does on other sites. If I'm watching a trailer that is interesting on the Shack, 90% of the time I'll stop it, open a new tab to youtube and watch it there for full quality.
