New Warlords remake coming to XBLA, PSN
While Atari's arcade classic Warlords was remade for XBLA only in 2008, another remake is on the way to XBLA and PSN this summer.
Arcade "classics" get no rest, eternally being re-released, reworked and remade. Atari's Warlords is one such victim, remade for Xbox Live Arcade in 2008, re-released via the Xbox 360 Game Room in 2010, and now receiving another remake for XBLA and PlayStation Network.
The "arcade action game" is made for one to four players, who must defend their castles from a fireball-spewing dragon while commanding troops to capture control points and smash their enemies. Local and online multiplayer modes include co-op siege, 2v2, and free-for-all battles.
Developed by Griptonite Games, this latest version of Warlords is due in summer 2011. Pricing has yet to be announced.

True story: I went to an E3 several years ago, as a consumer. I was young and tried to play every game I could get my hands on. There was a lot of cool stuff to see and I played some pretty neat upcoming games.
But the thing I spent the MOST time doing at that E3 was in the "Classic gaming museum" section, where they had tons of working and non-working game consoles and computers set up. They had an Atari 2600 hooked up to a huge TV, with all of the classic controllers available. My friend and I sat on the couch there and played the original Warlords against each other for at least an hour, which is like an eternity at one of those conventions.
It was absolutely the most fun game I played at the entire show.
