Dino D-Day pre-orders open on Steam
Nazi dinosaurs will once again walk the Earth in April, when Dino-Day hits Steam. The multiplayer shooter can be pre-ordered for $20.
Video games have been presenting World War II as a jolly old lark for yonks now so, when you think about it, the concept of the Nazis creating an army of dinosaurs in Dino D-Day is little more than a slight genre shift.
800 North's Source-powered multiplayer shooter can now be pre-ordered from Steam ahead of its April 8 release. It'll regularly cost $19.99 but a pre-order discount brings it down to $17.99.
Dino D-Day pits Axis against Allies to decide the fate of the world. Each side has a choice of six classes, though three of these are dinosaurs for the Axis--the speedy Raptor, 20mm gun-packing Desmatosuchus and scrapper Dilophosaur. And to think that people said grandpa's war stories of kamikaze pterosaurs were cries for attention after you shunted him off to that cold, grey care home.
Dino D-Day started life as a mod for Half-Life 2, released in 2009 as a prototype for the full commercial release.
Do have a gander at the excellent gallery of propaganda posters and artwork. Evidently, someone at 800 North is having an awful lot of fun.
