Layers of Fears announced for early 2023
Bloober Team returns to its Layers of Fear franchise next year.
During Summer Game Fest, Bloober Team revealed its next project. Layers of Fears is the latest installment in the landmark horror franchise. It’s currently aiming for a release in early 2023.
The Layers of Fears trailer brings us back to the universe that put Bloober Team on the map in the first place. We get all of the disturbing imagery and haunting atmosphere that has become synonymous with the franchise. Though details on the game are sparse, Bloober Team did tweet out a brief description of what fans can expect.
Bloober Team most recently released The Medium back in 2021, which we thought was just okay in our Shacknews review. Previous rumors had the developer linked to a new Silent Hill game, but there’s been no official word on that front.
The developer’s next title, Layers of Fears, will be released sometime in early 2023 for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. This is just one of the announcements we got during Summer Game Fest 2022. Stick with Shacknews as we continue to report all of the news from the busiest week in gaming.

I don’t know what to think, except (LoF2 GIANT SPOILER DO NOT CLICK) that maybe that rumor that one of their AAA projects is a story of aliens invading a medieval setting is using the Rat Queen concept to take it all the way back to olden times. -
Bloober is in a weird place. I liked the medium but I think generally the sentiment is that it was not loved or a hit. LOF 1 was a fun horror coaster but 2 was butt so I dunno how to feel about a 3rd. Need them to really nail something. Starting to feel like Observer might have been the apex
