Alan Wake 2 officially announced at The Game Awards 2021
The sequel to the 2010 cult hit will be arriving in 2023.
Fans of the original can finally breathe a sigh of relief, because Alan Wake 2 has been officially announced at The Game Awards 2021. Not only that, but Alan Wake 2 is scheduled to release sometime in 2023. Check out the reveal trailer below.
The trailer finally announces what we had long hoped to be true: that Alan Wake 2 is actually happening. The team at Remedy Entertainment, known for 2019’s award-winning Control, are working on a sequel to the cult hit title from 2010. By the time the game comes out, it would have been well over a decade since its release.
We don’t know much about the sequel, but we’re no doubt going to find out more as we approach its release date. It’s set to launch on the Epic Games Store, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S. Make sure you peruse the Shacknews Game Awards 2021 page for the other exciting reveals.

Was reading a bit of it on reddit and speculations and all that but it sounds like Remedy is going full-on survival horror with the sequel. You can also hear the HotLine from Control so except some sort of cross-over there and there looks to be some crazy switch between New York and Bright Falls happening so maybe we'll even see some Max Payne Alex Casey! Excited to see where they go with this.
