Explore a brutal and alien world in Scars Above.

Scars Above, developed by Mad Head Games, received a new trailer during the Koch Media Primetime showcase. The gameplay shown introduced players to the human vessel which overlooks an alien world, and then some classic, boots-on-the-ground combat featuring sci-fi weapons and horrific aliens. Check out the trailer below!

Mad Head Games is known for its mobile games and now looks to be venturing into the AA gaming sphere with Scars Above. On display in the gameplay trailer above is combat that looks like a mixture between Remnant: From the Ashes, Returnal, and Dead Space with players exploring a dangerous alien world.

Something takes place at the start of the game that renders the player alone and unarmed on this hostile world. After locating a weapon cache from the Hermes, Kate will be equipped with VERA, a powerful railgun perfect for dispatching the hostile alien life.

There were also some light puzzles on offer. A locked door required its locks to be shot before opening while another section had Kate scanning the organs of some hibernating alien lifeform. There also seems to be some crafting elements, where players can improve the VERA to fire different projectiles, which will no doubt be useful against various threats.

Scars Above looks like it will be quite appealing for those that love their sci-fi titles and you can certainly color me intrigued. Be sure to keep it locked to Shacknews as we bring you the latest on Scars Above as well as other announcements coming out of E3 2021.
