Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake revealed at Ubisoft Forward

Ubisoft has announced a remake of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, releasing January 2021.

After months of speculation and leaks, Ubisoft officially revealed a remake of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time during the latest Ubisoft Forward. Originally released back in 2003, Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time is one of the most beloved action-adventure titles of the 21st century, and certainly a fan favorite among Ubisoft’s catalogue. Fans won’t have to wait too long to jump into the classic adventure as the game will release on January 21, 2021.

Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake got a proper reveal during the September 10 Ubisoft Forward. Recently, we saw several leaks and rumors that suggested the game’s existence, as we reported on here at Shacknews. Now we’ve got a full trailer, as well as a release date for the highly-anticipated remake.

“Developed by Ubisoft Pune and Ubisoft Mumbai, Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake is Ubisoft’s first ever full-scale remake, with a fresh approach to combat, puzzle solving and rewinding time. The new design, made with updated technology for today’s gaming systems, includes new camera angles and fully remade sequences. Additionally, players will get to see a beautiful and fully reimagined ninth-century Persia through the eyes of the developers in Pune and Mumbai.” The company shared with Shacknews in a press release.

Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time remake will be $39.99 USD when it launches on January 21, 2021 for Xbox One, PS4, and PC. There was no mention about plans to bring the game to the next-gen consoles.
