Stranger Things coming to Rocket League Haunted Hallows Event

Netflix's most popular series is invading more video games, with Stranger Things finding its way into Rocket League's Haunted Hallows Event.

The Stranger Things phenomenon continues to roll forward, as Netflix's hottest show continues to cross over with other elements of pop culture. This includes video games, as Stranger Things is now set to intersect with the high-octane world of Rocket League. On Wednesday, developer Psyonix announced its upcoming Haunted Hallows Event, which will be headlined by content from Stranger Things.

Rocket League's Haunted Hallows Event is set to kick off on October 14. The Stranger Things tie-in comes in the form of numerous items, which can be purchased with special Candy Corn currency. Players can earn Candy Corn by playing online matches. Here are some of the items that players can pick up with their Candy Corn supply:

Rocket League - Stranger Things
  • Camp Know Where Topper
  • Demogorgon Player Banner
  • DEMOgorgon Player Title
  • Hawaiian Hopper Decal
  • Scoops Ahoy Avatar Border
  • Starcourt Wheels
  • Stranger Things Boost

If the idea of Candy Corn currency sounds about as terrible as the taste of actual candy corn, there's some free Stranger Things content available in the form of a reimagined arena. Farmstead Arena won't be the same, as it gets taken to the realm of the Upside Down. Now it has become Farmstead (The Upside Down) Arena, taking visual cues from the popular Netflix series, and will be available in the Arena rotation for the full Haunted Hallows Event.

This certainly isn't Stranger Things' first dive into video games. Aside from its own Netflix-produced video game earlier this year, Stranger Things also recently invaded Dead by Daylight, where the Demogorgon haunts survivors walking through the Underground Complex.

Rocket League's Haunted Hallows Event is set to run from October 14 through November 11. Players will only have until November 14 to redeem their Candy Corn, so act fast. You can find more information on this Halloween event on the Rocket League website.

Ozzie has been playing video games since picking up his first NES controller at age 5. He has been into games ever since, only briefly stepping away during his college years. But he was pulled back in after spending years in QA circles for both THQ and Activision, mostly spending time helping to push forward the Guitar Hero series at its peak. Ozzie has become a big fan of platformers, puzzle games, shooters, and RPGs, just to name a few genres, but he’s also a huge sucker for anything with a good, compelling narrative behind it. Because what are video games if you can't enjoy a good story with a fresh Cherry Coke?
