Gearbox celebrates 10 years of Borderlands with a month of rewards
The Borderlands Anniversary Celebration has a little something for everyone involved.
Believe it or not, it's been 10 years since the original Borderlands made its debut. Gearbox is celebrating a decade of its most popular franchise by giving back to the fans int he form of a five-week Borderlands Anniversary Celebration.
For the entire month of October as well as a small part of November, Borderlands 3 players of any level can grab some additional loot and bonuses while playing. Over the next five weeks, there will be special in-game goodies to snag, each with their own theme. Starting today (October 1), Boss Week is live. It will last until October 8 at 8:59 AM PT. At that time, the next week's theme will kick off.
Here's what the current reward theme weeks look like:
- Week 1 (October 1-7): Bonus Boss Loot!
- Week 2 (October 8-14): Rare Spawn Hunt!
- Week 3 (October 15-21): Show Me the Eridium!
- Week 4 (October 22-28): Mayhem on Twitch!
- Week 5 (October 29 - November 4): It's a Secret…
Boss Week means certain bosses you can face off against will have an increased chance to drop certain Legendary items. You can expect similar rewards and items from the other themes, which will rotate each week.
The bonuses you can expect will be unveiled each Monday this coming month by way of the official Borderlands site, so if you want to be kept in the know, be sure to check the site for updates. Will this be a good enough reward schedule for you to jump back into the game if you've already been prepping for one of the season's other triple-A games? Let us know in the comments below.
