How to fix Ghost Recon Breakpoint crashing at launch
If you’re having issues getting Ghost Recon Breakpoint to launch, then we’ve got a fix that could resolve your issue. Unfortunately, this particular fix requires you to edit certain game files, which some players might not be comfortable with. Thankfully, the editing process is very simple—only requiring you to delete a specific file—which means anybody should be able to pull it off. Don’t worry if you’re still nervous, we’ll walk you through the process completely.
Comfortable changing up game files? Here’s what you’ll need to do.
- Locate the My Games folder in your Documents folder on your PC.
- Find the Ghost Recon Breakpoint folder and open it up.
- Locate the DataPC_TGT_WorldMap.forge. file and delete it.
- Launch Ghost Recon Breakpoint.
If you’re experiencing the crashing issue at launch, then the only current known solution is to find a certain file in your Ghost Recon Breakpoint game files and delete it. This issue seems to be most common with users who played through the Breakpoint beta, and the file appears to be a leftover file that isn’t needed anymore.
To locate this file you’re going to want to open up your Documents folder and then migrate to My Games. From here, locate and open your Ghost Recon Breakpoint folder. Here you’ll see several different files, as well as a storage folder. The file that you’re looking for is DataPC_TGT_WorldMap.forge. Find it and then delete it completely. Do not touch any of the other files in this folder.
Now that you’ve deleted that file, go ahead and try to launch Ghost Recon Breakpoint again. This should resolve the issue, however, there have been reports of this particular fix not making a difference, so you’ll just need to try it and see how it does for you specifically. If you continue to have issues, then making a report on the official Ubisoft forums is your best bet. You can also make sure that your graphics drivers are up to date, as this has been known to cause some issues with Breakpoint running smoothly.
