Arcade Hustle discuss Sega NAOMI machines, arcade culture
Shacknews stopped by DerbyCon 2019 in Louisville to chat with Arcade Hustle about classic Sega arcade machines.
Love arcade machines? Love to hear what makes them tick? We've got a great new video for you that you'll absolutely love.
Shacknews' Tony Hudson trekked to Louisville, KY for DerbyCon 2019 and sat down with Josh Valentine and Kevin Finisterre of Arcade Hustle, two fantastic guys who are very into exploring classic arcade consoles like the Sega NAOMI line of arcade machines. The NAOMI and Dreamcast, interestingly enough, share the same hardware internals, and they're used to run various titles in machines, with multiple NAOMI boards able to be "stacked" for multiple monitor output.
DerbyCon 2019 is a conference put together and organized by individuals in the security industry, which both Valentine and Finisterre are a part of. But they're also hardcore arcade machine enthusiasts, as we previously discussed. You can hear all about their work together in the sector in the complete interview above.
There's nearly a half-hour of footage from the convention as you get to hear why the guys joined the space, their thoughts on arcade machine preservation, and a whole lot more. If you missed out on going to DerbyCon 2019, this clip should be nearly as good as being there.
For more great interviews like this, be sure to head over and subscribe to both Shacknews and GamerhubTV on YouTube.
