The Pirate Emporium is Sea of Thieves’ brand new storefront. This shop acts as a means for players to make microtransactions, an addition that was always planned for Sea of Thieves. There’s plenty to purchase in the Pirate Emporium, but the main focus for the time being are the pets. With more items planned for release in the future, keeping track of what is and was available through the store will be important.

What is the Pirate Emporium

The Pirate Emporium is the microtransaction store in Sea of Thieves. This store was added as part of the Smuggler’s Fortune update on September 11, 2019. For a lot of players, this marked a momentous occasion as it also meant pets (a long-teased feature) were finally added to the game.

Purchasing items from the Pirate Emporium requires real-world money. Players use their cash to purchase Ancient Coins, which are then used to purchase any number of items from the shop. While using money to buy this new premium currency is the best way to get what you want, there is another way to get Ancient Coins.

It’s critical to note that the goods for sale in the store will only ever be cosmetic. This means you will never be able to buy something that makes you more powerful or gives you an advantage over another player. The Pirate Emporium is just another way for players to express themselves and for Rare to continue supporting Sea of Thieves with free content updates.

Where to find the Pirate Emporium

Sea of Thieves Pirate Emporium
The Pirate Emporium can be found either in the main menu or on each of the Outposts above the Order of Souls.

The Pirate Emporium is found in two locations: the main menu of Sea of Thieves and in-game at each Outpost. This gives players an opportunity to make a purchase before loading up on a ship or from within the game if the moment strikes them.

After booting up Sea of Thieves, press any button to load up the main menu. On the right-hand side, select the Pirate Emporium tile to view the shop. From here, you can see the various goods on offer.

If you want to purchase an item while actually in-game, you will first need to make your way to an Outpost. Once at an Outposts, look for the two-story building that houses the Order of Souls. The Pirate Emporium is now open for business on the top floor. Be careful as you can still be attacked and killed while perusing the store in-game.

Ancient Coin prices

Before you can buy something from the Pirate Emporium, you must first purchase some Ancient Coins. The coins come in various bundle sizes, ranging from not enough to buy anything from the store (at the moment) to enough to buy a ship bundle, a bird, and more! Obviously, the bigger the bundle of Ancient Coins, the better value for your dollar.

The $5.99 bundle is enough to buy a pet, but the best value is the Glittering Tribute of the Ancients.

The items available in the Pirate Emporium can change, so expect new goodies to arrive and old content to disappear from shelves (though they might return at a later date).

The stock that is available in the Pirate Emporium changes every so often. Things like pet and outfit bundles or ship cosmetics will rotate in and out of the shop. If you spy an item you want to purchase, that also happens to be time-limited, make sure you pick it up.

Below is a list of all items the Pirate Emporium has stocked. We’ll be sure to update it when new cosmetics are added to the store.
