Geoff Keighley is returning for another helping of The Game Awards this December.

This year, you can expect The Game Awards to comeback for their 5th anniversary show, live from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles on Thursday, December 12. Tickets are available to purchase right now, so if you're interested in attending, you should go ahead and jump on them so they're not immediately sold out.

There aren't many details just yet on what's set to go down at The Game Awards 2019, but you can expect world premieres, nominees, performances, and a wide variety of other content like years prior. Can you believe it's already been five years? We sure can't.

Additional details are on their way out, but right now you can start trying to nail down your favorite games of the year – leaving room for the huge slate of games this November though, because it's about to be a huge month.

This December, when the show airs, we'll be sure to bring you all the news, premieres, and award winners as they happen. Be sure to head over to Shacknews for further updates to that respect!

You're probably right - the cutoff date is usually mid-Nov before the awards (Death Stranding on Nov 8).

That said, Geoff is not part of the judging panels.

Is that the thing that looked like a pretty fetch quest simulator? I haven't seen any of the recent stuff. Are there actual gameplay details?

Absolutely nothing against the game, and I very much doubt that the release date was scheduled to squeak into being the game awards. Just that DS is absolutely going to swamp these awards and there's not really an immediate strong counter-contender from a AAA publisher that really comes to mind. Last year, we had Dad of War vs RDR2 which made for an interesting show (Dad of War still took everything but no one expected that going in).

Fortunately, award cats are varied enough that DS cant win everything :P
